Painting Instructor
2019-present
I have instructed classes of around 10-50 people that focus on painting a design together. Beverages are welcome and this class will take 2 hours on average to complete everyone's paintings. I have nearly 4 years of experience and it is so much fun!
Studio Manager
While being a High School student, I led the idea of creating a public gallery in the building across from Little Italy in Glouster, Ohio. I displayed student art ranging from sculpture, photography, paintings, and drawings.

Artist Statement
My name is Taya Lackey. I am a graduate of Ohio University with my BFA in Painting and Drawing.. Art has been something I have always been interested in and I have been practicing all forms of art since I was a child, specifically painting. I am currently a social worker and I provide artistic services on my time away from work.
With each event scheduled is another event that I look forward to learn more about the world of art. It provides an escape for any practicing artist and that connection is forever mending artists throughout any culture.
With my recent journey of face painting, I have pondered the idea that our future artists, educators, politicians, and union workers are having a core memory- of art. Lighting the spark for them as it did to me at a young age is a privilege that I cannot begin to fathom. As their eyes light up in excitement to be Spiderman or a butterfly is an experience that every child would love to have and that’s why I love doing what I do.
